Darragh Hannan and Jee Won Ha separated after being adopted by different families
Two South Korean sisters they met again after undergoing DNA testing. The two were adopted by different families, one American and the other Belgian, when they were still newborns. The meeting was emotional for both of them.

Darragh Hannan and Jee Won Ha, 39 and 38, met for the first time since their split on Oct. 25, at a Seoul airport. To the magazine Peoplethe two said they discovered their relationship after a test on the platform MyHeritagewho searches for relationships and family trees. “We were thrilled. Crying, laughing, feeling happy and a little anxious,” they say.
The South Korean newspaper The Herald of Korea shared images of the moment of reunion. The two hugged each other and cried a lot. “We are complete strangers [uma para outra]linked by DNA. We know we are related, but we had totally different upbringings,” Jee says.
They said that, over the years, they have tried to learn more about their roots. Darragh’s first attempt took place in 2018, on the same platform, but was not as successful. Jee heard about the website from a neighbor who had managed to find a sister and thought of doing the same. At the beginning of 2024 the sister was already registered and tried to send a message, resulting in a meeting.
