The Ceci bakery, in Planalto Paulista, is elected the best in Sao Paulo by Padocaria 2024

Best bread on the plate, best dream and best team of hatters were some of the categories awarded by the competition; see sample bakeries

For the third consecutive time, Panificadora Ceci, which has been operating for sixty years in the Planalto Paulista neighborhood, won the award as best bakery in São Paulo in the fourth edition of Padocaria, which had the awards ceremony held this Tuesday (5 ), at the headquarters of the Union of the Baking and Pastry Industry of São Paulo (Sampapão).

The classic bakery, which opened a salon in April this year, also won the award in the categories of best cafe and best bakery in the south of São Paulo. “We work hard and put a lot of love into our work. It is very gratifying to receive affection from the public and the judges,” said Ceci’s partner, Gustavo Guimarães Fernandes, after the award.

In addition to recognizing second and third place in each category, Padocaria also awarded some new awards this year. The bakeries Estado Luso, in Vila Paulicéia, Cepam, in Vila Prudente, and Merci, in Vila Romana, which won three times respectively in the categories best bread, best bakery in the east zone and best bakery in the west zone, were awarded as ” hors competition” – they will be able to compete again in the same categories next year. Another unprecedented award was the sustainability award, awarded to the Casa Nápoles bakery, in Vila Formosa.

The category of the best naturally fermented bread also makes its debut. The winner was the Academia do Pão, in Paraíso. And, speaking of artisan bakeries, Forno Fecchio, in the Vila Anglo Brasileira neighborhood, was voted the best in western São Paulo.

Categories

While Cepam Bakery was chosen in the Best Charcuterie Service category, Big Pão Express, in Itaquera, won the award for Best Dream Bakery in São Paulo. The award for best bakery pizza went to Vera Cruz, also voted best bakery in the east.

Three bakeries from the northern area also stood out in the awards ceremony. While Pá D’ouro Pães e Doces, in the English Parade, was chosen in the category of the best chapeiros team, Arizona, in Tucuruvi, won the prize for the best bakery in the northern area and, also, the best French bread and the best grilled bread with ricotta. The award for best bread on the plate went to the Estado Luso bakery.

And Galeria dos Pães, in Jardim América, completes the team of winners, receiving the award as the best bakery in the center of São Paulo.
