Dairy-Free Oat Porridge Ingredients:

– 1/2 cup(s) homemade gluten-free oat milk – see recipe (or gluten-free oat milk)

– 2/3 cup(s) gluten-free premium oats or use leftover oats (from oat milk)

– 3 tablespoons demerara sugar

Ingredients TO SERVE:

– ground cinnamon to taste (optional)

PREPARATION:

  1. To make oat milk at home, the recipe requires only 2 ingredients from your pantry (oats and sugar) + water. Cinnamon adds a special touch, but it’s optional.

  3. If you’ve made homemade oat milk, don’t discard leftover oats to use in this recipe.
  4. Separate the ingredients and utensils for the recipe.

PREPARATION:

Dairy-free oat porridge:

  1. In a pan, mix the oat milk, milk residue or gluten-free fine oat flakes and sugar.
  2. Place over low heat and cook, stirring with a spatula, until it thickens slightly.
  3. Bring to the boil and cook for another 2 or 3 minutes.
  4. The sweet spot is when you pass the spatula and see the bottom of the pan.
  5. Turn off the fire.

FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:

  1. Distribute the dairy-free oat porridge in deep dishes.
  2. Top with ground cinnamon (optional).
