Zeca says that twice a year he voluntarily goes to the hospital for a check-up. “I’m not doing anything, so I’m like, ‘Dr. Marcelo, I’m hospitalized,’” the singer commented during the program, underlining that he was in hospital for two days, taking advantage of the opportunity to relax and monitor his health in more detail.
He even revealed, with great humor, that he even carries a hidden beer with him during these hospitalizations, making guests Tony Ramos and Gilberto Gil laugh.
During the conversation, Angélica joked about Zeca’s “new friend”: a glucose meter. This care is essential for monitoring blood sugar levels, which is important for the prevention and control of diseases such as diabetes, which, according to the Brazilian Diabetes Society, currently affects more than 13 million people.
In addition to personal care, Zeca recalled a funny episode involving Beth Carvalho, when he and friends Arlindo Cruz and Sombrinha brought beer to the singer while she was in hospital, demonstrating that the spirit of fraternization has never been lacking between them.
“We got there, Beth had a guitar under a table, ‘take my guitar over there’. The nurses have already arrived with those little plastic cups,” she said, strengthening the festive side of their friendships, even in the most difficult moments.
Zeca Pagodinho’s care routine reflects one of the recommendations of the Ministry of Health: carry out periodic examinations, especially for people over the age of 60, ensuring continuous and preventative monitoring.
