A A 23-year-old American woman has died after an allergic reaction a few days before his graduation from Tarleton State University, Stephenville, USA. Unaware that the recipe for a dish had changed, Alison Pickering ate peanuts and left the restaurant in an ambulance, where his death was confirmed.

The case occurred last year, but was recently revealed by Joy and Grover Pickering, the girl’s mother and father, in an interview with CBS News. As he said, his daughter asked for the “mahi-mahi” dish, which she had tried before without any problems.

“He would repeatedly go to the same restaurants and order the same dishes, you know. And that was something common,” his father, Grover Pickering, told the North American website

This time, however, peanut sauce was added to the dish. Neither she nor the waiters knew about the recipe change, according to her parents. After the first bite, Alison realized something was wrong and immediately called for help. Although she was rescued, she did not make it to the hospital alive.

“She got her Epipen. The ambulance came. She actually went to the ambulance talking to them, but somewhere along the way things got worse.”

The allergy was discovered when the little girl was still in kindergarten, when she developed a bout of hives after sharing a snack with a friend. Due to precautions, visits to hospitals were rare.

Now parents want to focus on raising awareness about the dangers of food allergies. They plan to work with the Texas Restaurant Association to better communicate between employees and customers about meal ingredients.
