Chia is a nutrient-rich seed and offers numerous health benefits, including reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, regulating blood sugar, aiding digestion and preventing constipation. Additionally, it is an excellent source of protein, fiber, and omega 3, which help reduce inflammation in the body, maintain brain and heart health, and control cholesterol.
“It also gives a greater sense of satiety, since in contact with the liquids inside the stomach it forms a sort of ‘gel’ which dilates the stomach, also helping to lose weight”, explains nutritionist Roseli Rossi.
