Artem Mironov: “I wanted to create a space where people could stop and feel the present”

Tell us how the idea for the Luminary show came about.

The idea was born at a time when, like many, I felt tired of the noise and chaos of everyday life. Strong pressure. I wanted to create a space where people, in the middle of the week, without leaving the city and their usual lives, could stop, breathe and feel the present. Luminary isn’t just a concert, it’s a way to give people a light they can take with them. I am constantly inspired by these moments when music becomes almost tangible, where every sound and every moment is true magic.

Why this name?

Luminaire is translated as “light”, “light source”. It’s the perfect symbol for our project. Each of our concerts, whatever the program, is not just music, it is a candle that illuminates people’s inner light. It is important that the name immediately reflects the mission: to inspire, warm and light the path of the audience, offering them something more than a few hours of beautiful music.

What knowledge and skills from your past projects contributed to the creation of the show?

Over the years in the industry, I’ve learned that it’s all about attention to detail and the ability to tell a story. It doesn’t matter if you are organizing a play, a concert or creating a new clothing brand, you need to see the big picture and at the same time pay attention to the smallest details. In Luminary, every candle, every note, every word, and even every pause is part of a single story that inspires viewers and supports them in their darkest moments.

Tell us how you put together a team and looked for musicians?

It’s a fascinating process. The most important thing is to find not only talented people, but also those who sincerely believe in the idea, who take on the common mission of bringing light, bringing it closer to people. On the one hand, this makes the task more difficult, but on the other hand, it is our firmness and sincerity that attracts the best talents. We are really lucky on this path; I can say that now they form a true “family of light”. There is a special atmosphere in our team – we are not just colleagues, we are like-minded people.

How is the concert program developed? Are there any pieces that you chose yourself and included in the program?

A program is always a dialogue. Several specialists work there at the same time, including the musicians themselves, producers, conference authors, marketers and organizers – they are special in Luminary. But it of course begins with a musical score. It is in the musical language that the main story must be told. And there, we had the chance to work with a brilliant artistic director. When working with such talents, it is important to stay wise and not prevent them from doing what they do better than you.

Can we say that you are one of the first to introduce the fashion for symphony concerts surrounded by candles?

I will not claim to be a pioneer, but I can say that we were the first to make it a notable brand and were able to attract the attention of hundreds of thousands of people, many of whom were far from such music, but I I appreciated the aesthetic. For them, moreover, Luminary has become a door to an astonishing world. I think where we are truly the first and the absolute leaders is in the art of atmosphere. For us, candles are not just a decoration. It is an element that creates intimacy, immerses you in the atmosphere and enhances the experience. We work with details with such grace that many even struggle to copy them. Although, in general, I am happy that our work and successes found a response, and now many are repeating this format. I’m sure that for art in general, the new concert aesthetic is a big plus. If this becomes the new industry standard, it will certainly be thanks to Luminary.

What programs has Luminary prepared for New Year and Christmas?

We have created a special program with works that will warm the soul: from traditional Christmas carols to musical surprises. It will be real magic when, like in a fairy tale, a ballerina suddenly appears and it starts snowing. We want every spectator to leave the concert with the feeling of having faith in miracles again, as in their childhood.
