The actress Marieta Severo He was at the artists’ retreat. The reason is noble: he participated in the delivery of three houses that will be donated to the residents of the institute. According to CARAS Brasil exclusively revealed, the actress donated the materials for the construction of the properties in collaboration with Marcelo Carusoson of the actress Iris Bruzzi, who have started living there in recent months.

Yesterday was a truly special day here at Retiro dos Artistas! We have delivered the three new houses which will house three more residents who are now part of our family. This space was renovated and built with a lot of love and support from incredible people who believe in our cause. Our eternal gratitude goes to the great actress and friend Marieta Severo and to the dear Marcelo Bruzzi Caruso, son of our unforgettable Iris Bruzzi, who were fundamental in making this dream come true. You fill us with hope and inspiration! We have already installed the first resident, the incredible Luiz Felipe, a great drummer who is now part of this new stage at the Retiro. We can’t wait to welcome the next ones! Thank you to everyone who helps build this story of care and love for our artists“, they wrote.

What is an artists retreat?

The retreat is located in Jacarepaguá, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro. It was founded in 1918 and currently has 46 residents. The president is the actor Stepan Nercessianwho took to social media a few months ago to ask for help paying off his debts.

The site structure is extensive: 15 thousand square meters. There the audiovisual artists have a café, a theatre, a library, a swimming pool, a beauty salon, a chapel, a physiotherapy center and common areas.

In addition, they receive multidisciplinary care, which includes: healthcare, recreation and cognitive stimulation. Additionally, acting, voice-over and art therapy classes expose veteran artists to creation, art and poetry.
