Thighs are important for longevity and other physical practices
If you want toned, healthier legs, you probably already know that thigh exercises are an important part of this process. Sport Life will thus share the three ideal exercises to define the thighs with the help of Bio Ritmo’s technical specialist, André Felipe Coelho.
The three ideal exercises to define your thighs
Squats with dumbbells
Standing with your feet parallel and hip-width apart, hold a dumbbell in each hand. Perform a movement as if you were sitting on an invisible chair and return to the starting position. Don’t lean your torso too far forward or let your heels lift off the floor.
I lunge
Place your feet hip-width apart, one in front and one behind while standing. Place only the toes of your back foot on the floor. Perform a movement by placing your back knee on the floor and return to the starting position. Be careful not to leave your back foot straight and not to lift the heel of your front foot off the ground, to avoid imbalances and possible falls.
Get on the bench
To perform this exercise you will need a chair, step or ladder. Standing, step up with one leg and leave the other raised from the support, on the ground, bending the one at the top. When you come down the same leg, don’t touch it to the ground.
Addition
The other complete exercises are those that require greater control from the practitioner. “These are squats in all variations, with machine, with dumbbells, on a guided bar or free bar; and deadlifts and rigid lifts. Remembering that the exercises vary depending on the needs and evolution of the practitioner”, he underlined.
Final word
It is extremely important to remember that it is necessary to train the entire leg so that there is balance between all the muscles of the limb to achieve the result. “Working the calves, for example, will also help bring blood back from the legs to the central region of the body,” concluded André Felipe Coelho.
