What is a near-death experience?

Normally, in a near-death experience, the person suffers physical discomfort and goes into a coma. For many she is dead, but the moment in which she lives says otherwise. How long does a near-death experience last?

It’s worth remembering that there is no reason why NDEs happen and they don’t happen to everyone. In reality, according to Amancio, it is a relatively small number of people who suffer from it, around 5% to 10%. And the time of our reality is about five minutes. Sometimes even less. We describe it this way, because from testimonies it appears that the experience lasts more than a few minutes.

“They talk like it takes forever, but typically, in the calculations we do here and assist the patient, it takes five minutes or even a little less. Their time is not our time, it is completely different. Furthermore, they undergo an overhaul of their lives. They can remember the moment they were born until the moment of the outcome, when the NDE occurs – something that we, mere mortals, do not have, since we can remember when we were five or six years old. What happens after the near-death experience?

As soon as they return, patients remember everything in detail and, when they start living daily life, they notice countless differences. “Those who were atheists now have beliefs. There are those who have become more altruistic and less selfish. There is an overall improvement. It is as if they have incorporated something that they did not have before, as many acquire a keen intuition and a kind of extrasensory perception”he added.

How does science explain near-death experiences?

For those who are curious, science does not yet have a concrete explanation, since they cannot demonstrate, in the laboratory, why consciousness is so expanded and they have already discovered that there is no way to cause an NDE. Despite this, there are several experts who try to find an explanation, and many believe that the mind is capable of going beyond the brain.

Amancio also added that death does not have to occur for NDE to occur, as there are cases where people have experienced very similar episodes through meditation and prayer. However, hallucinogenic substances, such as Ayahuasca, are not capable of causing an NDE.
