The presenter and editor-in-chief of National newspaper William Bonner “scared” fans this Saturday 21st, publishing a photo on his social networks showing his injured left arm.

“A stumble 400 meters from home, after 8 km of exercise,” Bonner wrote, showing his left arm supported by a sling, while his right wrist is wrapped in a brace. The presenter, however, did not provide further details on the incident.

Combining good humor and concern, followers left messages of affection for Bonner after the accident: “Wow, Bonner. After December 20th, physical activity will only be next year. Get well soon,” wrote one, while another joked about the end of the year: “Just to take a break at the end of the year.”

With 38 years at the helm of National newspaperWilliam Bonner recently admitted that he is already thinking about retirement. During the event The best of the year 2024from Rede Globo, Bonner acknowledged his tiredness after almost four decades in journalism and gave his ‘endorsement’ to a possible replacement.

“Obviously [pensa em aposentadoria]. Who doesn’t think about retirement? I have a 38-year career,” he told the blog Ugo Glossbefore answering on the possibility of having the journalist César Tralli as a replacement:

“Absolutely, of course.” He praised Tralli, highlighting his colleague’s competence: “Cesar Tralli is one of the most qualified colleagues I have at Globo to take on a role like this when the time comes.”
