3 practical tricks for decorating the Christmas table without spending money

You can have one of those beautifully decorated Christmas tables even if you can’t spend a lot, just use a lot of creativity

The Christmas table is the center of celebrations this season! It is around her that everyone sits down to share dinner or distribute gifts. Therefore, many families try to provide it well furnished from the table to the celebration.

However, for those who can’t afford to spend that much at the end of the year, that feeling of discouragement and disappointment may arise. The Christmas decorations that appear out there, on TV or on social media, are always super whimsical and grand, with red, gold, silver and earthy tones everywhere – all very beautiful, but a little expensive.

At this moment, designer Mariana Ribeiro suggests thinking outside the box and enhancing what you already have at home to assemble a very creative and different Christmas table. Check out three tips from the pro:

Reuse and reinvent

Decorative ribbons, styrofoam, cardboard, PET bottles and crepe paper, among others, are versatile materials that can be transformed into cute decorations and many people already have them at home or can purchase them easily.

“An unused box can become a decorative gift with a built-in ribbon,” explains Mariana. Furthermore, by using this type of raw material, you also help the environment by preventing it from being thrown away.

And the best thing is that every year you can reinvent your Christmas decorations this way! Christmas trees, snowmen and Santa Claus faces are some of the other icons of this celebration that can be made with this type of materials.

Bet on Christmas plants

Plants are always an economical decoration option, and this does not change when it comes to the Christmas table. Explore those that highlight the season, like the charming parrot’s beak, and make the atmosphere colorful, Christmassy and cheerful.

Mariana also suggests, for cut compositions, combinations such as eucalyptus branches with red astromelias, creating elegant and festive floral compositions.

Delight with lighting

If you only use Christmas lights around the tree, mirroring them in other places, including the table, will revolutionize your Christmas decoration. They can be arranged in different ways, so unleash your creativity and let the magic happen!
