How to prepare shrimp casserole? Discover the recipe and surprise

Shrimp Casserole Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup and 1/2 cup (tea) cold butter
  • 3 tablespoons cold water (approximately)
  • Butter for greasing
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing

Filling

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 600 g of cleaned medium prawns
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 2 seedless tomatoes chopped
  • 1 glass of drained and chopped hearts of palm (300 g)
  • 1 cup chopped green olives
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups (tea) catupiry

Preparation method:

  1. For the filling, heat a pan with butter over medium heat and fry the prawns for 3 minutes.
  2. Add the onion, the extract, the tomato and sauté for 3 minutes.
  3. Add hearts of palm, olives, salt, pepper and cook for 2 minutes. Turn off and let cool.
  4. In a bowl, mix the flour, egg and butter until a moist crumb forms.
  5. Pour the water, little at a time, until a smooth mixture is formed. If necessary, add more water.
  6. Divide the dough into 2 parts and roll it out with a rolling pin.
  7. Line the bottom and edges of a greased 24cm springform cake tin with part of the mixture.
  8. Spread the filling on top and form a layer with the Catupiry.
  9. Cover with remaining dough, pinching edge to seal.
  10. Brush with egg yolk and bake in a preheated medium oven for 35 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown.
  11. Leave to cool, unmold and serve.
