These habits are essential for building happier relationships, which are the foundation for health, longevity and well-being.




Although Aristotle stated that “happiness depends on ourselves”, Harvard University and its study of adult developmentborn in 1938 and still active after more than 85 years, she maintains that what makes us truly happy are interpersonal relationships.

Relationships keep us healthy and happy

The study found that “having strong, intimate bonds with other people makes us happier” and “keeps us healthy”, as explained psychiatrist and professor Robert J. Waldingerone of the researchers and current director of the study, in an interview on the Aprendimos Juntos program. According to him, the answer to how we can be happy lies in what he calls “secure attachment relationships.”

“Whether you’re an introvert or an extrovert, everyone needs at least one or two secure relationships. Relationships where you feel like there’s someone you can call and who will be there when you need them,” Waldinger said.
