METERS

Ingredients for homemade oat milk cream:

– 1 cup(s) hydrated gluten-free oatmeal – see preparation instructions

– 1 1/2 cups filtered water (for blending)

– salt to taste (pinch)

Ingredients TO FINISH

– 2/3 tablespoon(s) of olive oil

PREPARATION:

  1. Separate the ingredients and utensils for the recipe.
  2. This recipe yields approximately 300ml of oat cream for every 2 servings.

PREPARATION:

Oat milk cream (do this step in advance):

  1. Boil water in a kettle to soak the oats.
  2. In a bowl, immerse the oats in boiling water, enough to cover them, and let them soak for 30 minutes, covered, at room temperature.
  3. Drain excess water into a strainer placed over a bowl. Reserve filtered water.
  4. Then put the soaked oats with a pinch of salt and the filtered water (result of the hydration of the oats) + filtered water (see quantities in the ingredients) in the blender. Don’t beat too much because the cream could become sticky.
  5. Strain through a vegetable milk strainer or through a tea towel and reserve the oats for other recipes. Another option is to strain it through a fine sieve, but some pieces of oatmeal may get through and the cream won’t be as white.
  6. Store the oat milk cream for other preparations in a covered glass jar (shelf life is up to 4 days in the refrigerator).

FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:

  1. Prepare various recipes with yours oat milk cream. Keep refrigerated.
  2. When using, according to your recipe, add olive oil (recommended for sauces and preparations in which oat cream replaces traditional cream).
