“The lower the gestational age and birth weight, the greater the chance of hemorrhage occurring, because the more premature it is, the greater the chance of other complications, such as sepsis, the need for intubation , hypothermia, among other factors that further increase the risk of bleeding. This hemorrhage can affect approximately 20-40% of babies born weighing less than 1500 g. clarifies.

On social media, Nadja Haddad detailed her son’s condition and explained that he had a minor brain hemorrhage and had no consequences! Dr. Miguel explains why premature babies can develop this condition.
“In premature babies this may occur more frequently, as the brain structures are still a bit immature. This hemorrhage can affect around 20-40% of babies born weighing less than 1500 grams,” explains.
Doctor Miguel states that the hemorrhage can reach 4 degrees of extension, but specifies that most cases are milder and have a favorable evolution, as in the case of Nadja Haddad’s son.
“In addition to the immaturity of the brain structures, premature babies end up having a greater risk of neonatal sepsis, requiring respiratory assistance or receiving transfusions, as well as other complications that further increase the possibility of this bleeding occurring.
