Shortcrust pastry ingredients:
– ready-made shortcrust pastry to taste
Ingredients for the filling:
– 2 ripe bananas, cut into cubes
– lemon to taste (drops)
Ingredients TO SPRAY OR BRUSH:
– oil to taste
Ingredients TO COMPLETE:
– sugar to taste
– ground cinnamon to taste
PREPARATION:
- Separate the ingredients and utensils for the recipe.
- In a shallow dish, mix the sugar with the cinnamon to finish.
- Pour a little water into another bowl to seal the edges.
- Place a drizzle of oil in another bowl to brush the pastries.
PREPARATION:
Banana Pasta in the Airfryer – Assemble:
- Peel and cut the bananas into cubes, to make it easier to insert the filling into the shortcrust pastry.
- Add a few drops of lemon on top and mix, not only to prevent the banana from oxidizing, but also to add a touch of citrus to the final flavor.
- Place the shortcrust pastry on the work surface and cut out rectangles of the desired size (suggestion: 10×10 cm).
- Place the banana cubes in the center of one side of the dough.
- Using a brush, apply a little water to the edges of the dough – reserve the bowl with water for later use.
- Fold the dough in half.
- Pinch the edges to make them stick, using a fork or with your fingers, gently press the edges so that the pastry is well sealed – taking care not to puncture the pastry.
Banana Pasta in the Airfryer – Cook:
- Preheat the Airfryer for 5 minutes at 180°C.
- Lightly brush the entire surface of the shortcrust pastry with oil so that it becomes golden brown during cooking, being careful not to soak it, just a little.
- Arrange the pastries in the basket, one next to the other, without overloading the basket. If necessary, cook in stages to ensure even cooking.
- Close the Airfryer basket and bake for about 10 minutes at 180°C, this time depends on the power of your equipment.
- Turn the pastries halfway through cooking to ensure all sides are evenly browned.
FINALIZATION AND ASSEMBLY:
- Remove the banana pastries in the airfryer from the basket and arrange them on a plate.
- Since the sugar will not stick to the cakes, moisten them. Use the spray bottle to apply the sugar water evenly or brush on gently.
- Dip the pastries in the sugar with the cinnamon, pressing to solidify well.
- Serve Airfryer Banana Cakes hot for a snack or as a dessert.
- For an alternative presentation, serve the cinnamon sugar separately as a side dish.
