Born in Nilópolis, Baixada Fluminense, Hemerson Santos, better known as “Master of the Curls”, has conquered the heart of black and curly women from all over Brazil. At 25, it is a reference in hair care and female self -esteem, which transports a stimulating trajectory of overcoming and entrepreneurship.
Hemerson started soon
His relationship with beauty began early, guided by a dream and a lot of determination. At the age of 13, Hemerson began his career by knocking on Porta a Porta in the communities of Rio de Janeiro, after being fired by a job as a general service assistant at Mercadão de Maudiira. With R $ 50.00 only, he started his business, facing prejudices for his color of skin and curly hair. These challenges have strengthened their mission: transforming the way in color women see their hair and identity.
Today Hemerson is one of the greatest experts in natural treatments, finishes, hairstyles, colors and locks, as well as being a dedicated educator. It runs through the courses and world teaching lessons, allowing women from the outskirts and offering opportunities to professionalize in an often exclusive market.
Your hair has history
Your social projects are a separate chapter. In his salon, he created “his hair has history”, which celebrates black culture through stimulating reports of its customers. This project has become viral on social networks, accumulating over 20 million points of view and becoming a symbol of resistance to racism.
In addition, every two months, Hemerson visits the Carioca communities selected to help children face prejudices because of their hair. With the help of its customers, who give food and clothes in exchange for hair treatments, brings hope and self -esteem to these children, offering haircuts and repagations that have the power to transform life.
“With these donations, we can help families who are not able to put the food on the table. The opportunity also grows to take care of the children’s hair, because I know how much it can affect their self -esteem,” says Hemerson.
Hemerson gives way
The hairdresser also offers free professional courses for women in financial vulnerability, allowing them to enter the labor market. “My goal is to enhance them so that they can take their curls and find strength in their stories,” he says.
Hemerson, the master curl, is much more than a hairdresser. He is an educator, an activist and, above all, a source of inspiration for all women who want to connect with their true essence.
His example inspires thousands of people every day, reaffirming that curls are not only hair, but crowns that bring stories and identities.
