The analysis is part of a projection that accompanies the tendencies of longevity over the decades. According to data, the average life expectancy for the boys born in 2023 is 86.7 years old, while for girls he reaches 90 years old. The projections for 2047 indicate an increase: boys can live up to 89.3 years and girls up to 92.2 years. However, the numbers are below previous estimates, which indicates a slowdown in the progress of longevity.
The research also reveals an increase in life expectancy for people who are already in the elderly. The men aged 65 in 2023 should live another 19.8 years on average, while women of the same age group have a projection of another 22.5 years. For those who turn 65 in 2047, this middle school rises at 21.8 years for men and 24.4 years for women.
The data also highlight the variations between different regions, with differences in longevity between the countries of the United Kingdom. The projections are based on historical standards and tendencies observed in mortality, with a growth prediction of the life expectancy of 1.1% per year for people from zero to 90 years. However, this rhythm is lower than previously esteemed, reflecting a slower progress in reducing mortality.
Despite the slowdown in the increase in life expectancy, the numbers indicate a continuous trend to growth. Consequently, subsequent generations can have an even longer life, provided that factors such as access to health and quality of life continue to evolve.
