Methods fight endometriosis – chronic disease for tissue growth that covers the uterine region – through hormones. The drug inhibits ovulation and blocks hormonal fluctuations, reducing the pain and progress of diseases. The IUD, in turn, releases the substances in a localized way, preventing the expansion of the endometrium. “The new technology can improve the quality of life of patients. Who will have access?

Desogestrel will be available for patients with indication for the use of oral contraceptives. The intrauterine device, however, will be limited only to women who cannot resort to the drug due to the contraindication or lack of response to treatment.
