The exams have revealed an intramural hematoma in the aorta – bleeding in the wall of the artery, a serious condition that can lead to fatal rules if not treated. The patient had an unchanged hypertension story, for a year without treatment and smoke for 17 years, factors that have increased his risk.
The acute aortic syndrome (Saa) has a high mortality, with about 1% per hour without treatment and up to 22% of cases it is discovered only after death. Although sex is considered a moderate physical effort, complications like this are rare, according to the medical relationship.
“Our case is rare to be a woman, in consensual sex with her husband, but with risk factors such as untreated hypertension and chronic smoke,” the doctors explained in the article published on the American Journal of Case Reports.
The patient was treated with drugs and cardioatoracic surgery, downloaded in three days.
