“A balanced diet helps to control the pressure, but some foods act as a trigger to increase hypertension and must be avoided or consumed with great moderation,” explains the expert.
Five foods that require attention
- Incorporated
Sousage, ham, salami and sausage contain high quantities of sodium and preservatives, which can help increase blood pressure.
- Excessive salt
The high salt consumption remains the main villain for hypertensive. The World Health Organization recommends a maximum hiring of 5 grams per day.
- Ultra elaborate foods
Dishes made on frozen, instant soups and sodium hidden at concentration of fast food, often unnoticed by the consumer.
- Soft drinks and sugary drinks
Excess sugar promotes obesity and insulin resistance, conditions that aggravate hypertension.
- Excessive coffee and energy
Caffeine in large quantities can temporarily lift the pressure, being harmful to those who already have hypertension.
