Anvisa suspended the resolution, but continues to recommend masks for people most vulnerable to Covid-19
THE anvisa has decided to suspend the resolution that determined the mandatory use of masks inside airplanes and airports, in force since 2020. The measure received unanimous votes during a college meeting that took place on Wednesday (17) . It will enter into force when it is published in the Official Journal of the Union.

The proposal was an offshoot of the end of the Public Health Emergency of National Importance for Covid-19, determined by the Ministry of Health in April. According to the epidemiologists consulted by the anvisa, ending the use of the mask will not affect the decline in the number of cases and deaths from illness in Brazil. However, the agency pointed out that the mask continues to be recommended, especially for people most vulnerable to the coronavirus.
In May, Anvisa had already authorized the return of the service on board, but required passengers to wear masks while they were not eating or hydrating. The landing step by step will continue.
