According to him, the patient was progressing very satisfactorily to the procedure, but he died due to cardiorespiratory arrest.

In an exclusive interview with Terra, Glaucio Boechat explained that the woman has lived with the tumor for the past five years without suspecting it. “She thought she was gaining weight,” she said.

The patient sought medical assistance only on Monday, August 29, after experiencing breathing difficulties.

“The condition was very serious, if we did not operate it was in danger of having a respiratory arrest,” says the doctor.

In addition to breathing difficulties, the woman also had severe anemia.

The surgery lasted about two hours, involving about 13 professionals to remove the tumor that weighed 46 kg. “I’ve never seen such a large tumor, I’ve never seen anything like it,” said the surgeon.

The doctor could not tell what caused the condition, as the biopsy result takes up to 20 days to release. However, he suspects that the tumor may be a fibroid that has formed in the patient’s uterus. “
