Making art is fine: it’s time to paint and draw!

In general, this type of plaster is non-toxic, but it is worth teaching that it should not be put in the mouth.

Another alternative is to melt several crayons (in the microwave, in a double boiler on the stove or in the oven, but beware of the vapors they can exhale) and put them in silicone molds or form a ball, which the child will love. take and observe what it is capable of producing on a white sheet.

In toy and / or baby supply stores there are also specific sets of chalks to scribble on the tiles, a real fun for the bath: place the tub close to the wall and let your little one have fun.

Homemade and natural paints

In terms of paints, manufacturers of washable gouache paints generally advise against using them for children under the age of 3. But you can make paints at home, and most importantly, edible! One idea is to buy jellies of different flavors and colors, put the powder in the jars and add some boiling water. As you blend, check if the texture is similar to a uniform paint. After it has cooled down, just sit on the floor – making sure to cover it tightly, to make your life easier – and let the baby have fun using his or her hands.

Another tip for making homemade paint is to add colorful food dyes to the yogurt pots. The best thing is that the baby can put his hands to his mouth without worry.
