Traditional Mojito: Learn about the preparation of this delicious classic drink

Despite being one of the best known drinks in the world, there is no confirmed story about the true origins of the blend of rum, mint leaves, sugar and lemon. Most likely, according to historians, the Mojito was created in Cuba more than 100 years ago.

This story is the best known and was strengthened when the American writer Ernest Hemingway declared his passion for the drink and said he tried it in a bar in the Cuban capital, Havana, called “La Bodeguita Del Medio”, where would have been relieved.

Time: 10 minutes

Performance: 1 cup

Difficulty: easy

Traditional mojito ingredients:

• 2 teaspoons of sugar
• 30 ml of lemon juice
• 1 small glass of light rum
• sparkling water
• Ice

Method of preparation:

Rub the inside of the glass with 2 mint leaves. Place 6 mint leaves inside the glass, also using the leaves you have flavored. Add the sugar and lemon juice. With a whisk, crush the leaves with the sugar and lemon. Then blend the rum and top up with sparkling water. Add the ice cubes, mix and serve immediately.
