Panettone recipe ingredients:

  • 1 cup (tea) of warm water
  • 1 cup (tea) of sugar
  • 4 fresh brewer’s yeast tablets (60 g)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (approx.)
  • 1 teaspoon of panettone essence
  • 1 cup (tea) of warm milk
  • 1 cup (tea) of oil
  • 6 beaten eggs
  • Lemon peel
  • 1 cup (tea) of condensed milk
  • Oil and yolk for brushing
  • Candied fruit and raisins to taste

Icing:

  • 1 cup (tea) of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of water

Method of preparation:

In a bowl, mix the lukewarm water, 1/2 cup (tea) of sugar, yeast, salt and 1/2 cup (tea) of flour, stirring until porridge. Let it rest for 40 minutes or until it doubles in volume. Add the essence, milk, oil, eggs, lemon zest, condensed milk, remaining sugar and mix. Add the flour, a little at a time, whisking, until it sticks to your hands (the dough should be softer than hard).

Divide the dough, let it rise in panettone molds for 1 hour or until doubled and brush with the mixed oil and egg yolk. Bake in a preheated oven for 1h30 or until lightly browned. Complete with the mixed ingredients for the glaze, candied fruit and raisins. Serve hot or at room temperature.
