Prada debuts in high jewelery with the gold collection

The pieces are made with 100% recycled metal, according to the brand.

The Italian brand Prada debuted in the high jewelry market and launched the “Eternal Gold”, or “Ouro Eterno” collection.

According to the brand, the 48 pieces of the line are made with 100% recycled and certified gold, following the standards of the Responsible Jewelery Council, a body that promotes good practices in the sector.

According to Timothy Iwata, director of Prada jewelry, the gold used in the new collection is completely recycled, coming from sources such as industry or used jewelry.

In addition, traceability has been extended to pieces of all sizes as, until now, the feature was only available for 0.5 carat diamonds.

“All steps in the chain for responsible gold and diamond production are verifiable and traceable, a unique prerogative not offered by any other luxury jeweler or fashion house in the world,” said Iwata.

According to him, customers themselves will be able to verify the authenticity of rings, necklaces and bracelets through a platform. The pieces will be sold at prices between 1.5 thousand and 55 thousand euros (from R $ 7.7 thousand to R $ 282 thousand at the current price). .
