Mother’s advice: find out the good tips to speed up your day when you prepare lunch boxes for children with taste, health and no frills!
Undoubtedly, every day we must have that dose of creativity mixed with the request to offer a healthy snack to our children, far from the industrialized ones, since it weighs our daily sense of guilt. Snack all day? No, don’t even think about it. But then? I’ll share some mom tips that will make your day easier.
Tip 1- Start by involving the child in the process
Play the supermarket game: ask the child to make a list of things to “buy” with you, whatever he likes best, and try to push the healthy side of this game, putting the fruits he likes for example. Then you will have your foundation to start thinking.
Tip 2: Create a weekly menu
Take all the preferences of the child and buy and organize the menu of the week, taking into account everything, including the weather. I, for example, go to the supermarket every Sunday to offer fresher foods and avoid buying too many things and they end up spoiling, the weather changes or the child ends up losing his appetite.
Tip 3 – Smart substitutions
Example: the child chose that famous strawberry flavored petit suisse cream from the list. How about whipping fruit with natural yogurt to form a cream? Or use natural yogurt (choose the one without additives, preservatives or sugar) and chop the strawberry well and sweeten it with honey (only for children over 2 years old, consult your pediatrician before adding the product to your child’s diet.) and mix in a jar, and to attract the baby, how about a colored candy on top? A little, huh.
Tip 4 – Offer a little of each type of food
Don’t send a packed lunch with snacks only or sweets only. Play with different types and flavors and offer good variety. If you order a sandwich, offer cherry tomatoes or corn in a buttered pot to go with it. For dessert: for dessert a chopped fruit or a blunt toothpick with strawberry and grapes forming a skewer.

Tip 5 – Assembling the packed lunch
Offer an attractive “combo”, as if it were a mini meal. Think of a main dish, a savory side dish, and a dessert. Example: 2 sandwiches with tuna pate or homemade cold cuts, 1 cheese muffin and 1 fruit salad.
Tip 6 – Have a good packed lunch
To maintain the food safety of the child, it is important to invest in a packed lunch that has good thermal protection, in addition to being good for health, the little ones tend to refuse the meal if it is at an unfavorable temperature or even “wilted”. In addition to eating with your eyes, right? Who refuses a fresh meal? Your baby’s tendency to eat more will be much greater. Remembering that you can find models of various prices and a packed lunch can last 1 year or more if you take good care of it.
