An aesthetic procedure, performed at an aesthetic and dermatology clinic in Caxias do Sul (RS), was the subject of this week on social media. The video showing a patient’s before and after went viral on TikTok and surprised netizens. The so-called deep phenolic peeling completely changed the elderly woman’s face, which was wrinkle-free after the treatment was cured.
The images show the evolution of the procedure in 21 days. Initially it is possible to see the face of the elderly woman – who has an older appearance – severely bruised and with large crusts on the skin. Also in the video, these peels are removed, leaving the skin very red.

The post procedure is a practically ‘new’ face, with no fine lines or few wrinkles. Although phenol peeling has gone viral, the procedure, which is more aggressive and causes deep scaling, is not that new to the market, as reported by the newspaper O Globo.
Dermatologist Abdo Salomão Jr, of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (SBD), told the newspaper in July that the treatment can only be performed in hospitals because it presents several health risks, as it is a planned burn, in which the whole epidermis is removed and part of the dermis.
“The results are brilliant, but it is a procedure that is no longer in use. He suffers a lot, there are high risks for scars and blemishes, people stay two to three months with a red face, a month without leaving the house and a week without even opening their eyes. Therefore, despite the results, it is practically no longer done and the demand is very low ”, explains the specialist.
Also according to the report, peeling is a technique that stimulates skin renewal, both with so-called physical procedures, with exfoliation of the most superficial layer of the skin, and with chemicals, with the use of acids, as in phenol.
Among the expected results are the reduction of the appearance of wrinkles and expression lines, the whitening of spots such as melasma, the reduction of oiliness and dilated pores.
The surgery should preferably be performed during the winter, because with the cold there is less chance of dilation of the vessels, which causes the face to swell less during convalescence, as well as avoiding burns and spots due to exposure to the sun. .
