The restaurant opens a new home in Itaim with popular dishes of the day at friendly prices.
The restaurant opens at noon and in ten minutes its 80 seats are already fully occupied by those who work in the offices of the neighborhood. After 1:30 pm, the movement calms down. It has been like this since it opened two weeks ago. The phenomenon is explained: the house in question is the headquarters, in Itaim Bibi, of the award-winning Hospedaria da Mooca, owned by Fellipe Zanutto and Derek Moore.
The atmosphere is lively, light, fun: a huge high-ceilinged shed with natural light, an open kitchen, with colorful paintings on the walls on one side and the bar on the other.
The menu is the same as the Hospedaria da Mooca – food inspired by the daily dishes of Italian immigrants. Simple, tasty, comforting and with good prices. The highlight of the menu in the new house (in a region where people dine in restaurants every day) has to be the “rango da funça”, the PF served for lunch during the week, for R $ 35. The dishes vary. Mondays are shot, with rice, tutu, cabbage, eggs, steak, sausage and cracklings. Tuesday, breaded chicken fillet with mashed potatoes, rice and beans. Wednesday is the feijoada (I have already crossed the city to eat the very good feijoada dell’Hospedaria) …
There is also the executive menu with starters, main courses and desserts for R $ 59 and options ranging from angus milanese with potato and watercress salad, to eggplant parmigiana with pasta in gravy.
On the regular menu, Stroganoff (R $ 66), grandma’s parmigiana to share (with milanese angus, gravy sauce and wood-fired semi-cured cream cheese, R $ 132) … The immigrant risotto is a house classic, São Stile Paulo: made with aguhinha rice with pumpkin cream, pork ribs, peas, organic vegetables, cheese fondue and soft eggs (R $ 68).
The sandwiches follow the spirit of the house, in semi-Italian bread – Italian bread dough in the shape of French bread, an icon of the Monte Líbano bakery in Mooca. It has meat in a pot, Milanese, lizard in vinaigrette, squid breaded with mayonnaise and vinaigrette… And the desserts couldn’t be more homemade: pudding, rice pudding, soft brigadeiro, coconut ice cream cake.
