Trainer reveals the most common mistakes people make at the gym and beyond
Know how to evolve in the gym and avoiding the dreaded stagnation is one of the main desires of those who practice bodybuilding. It’s not uncommon to find people who think they’re doing everything right. They train every day, they don’t go wrong with their diet and, despite this, they can’t leave the place anymore.
The problem of those who fail to evolve in the gym, many times, lies in the details that end up going unnoticed. That’s why, with the help of physical educator Larissa Kussano, we’ve broken down seven habits that seem harmless, but can actually get in the way of your workout. Watch:
7 things you must avoid if you want to improve in the gym
1. Sleep little🇧🇷 The body needs recovery to make the metabolic adaptations that training promotes. That is, if you don’t rest properly, you’re hurting your results.
2. Incorrect feeding🇧🇷 Keeping an eye on the amount of calories ingested is important not only for those who want to lose weight, but for anyone who maintains a balanced diet. Therefore, it is best to seek advice from a nutrition specialist.
3. Skip the “just this once” workout.🇧🇷 To avoid mistakes, the right thing is not to set very bold goals, but to achieve what is defined. The chances of you missing training sessions increase every time you “only” lose once. The results appear mainly with the frequency of the stimulation.
4. Not respecting the intervals between sets🇧🇷 The interval between sets is as important in training as the load or reps. Because, if it has not been respected, it decreases the intensity of the training and, consequently, postpones the expected results.
5. Add unguided exercises. Comply with the teacher’s prescription. If you haven’t passed a certain exercise, don’t make the mistake of adding without professional guidance. Because the training has a structure that obeys several parameters that students are usually unaware of.
6. Exaggerate. Doing fewer exercises, sets or training time allows you to perform activities with greater intensity. This increases the possibility of losing weight and reducing measures, as the activity will impact a faster metabolism.
7. Just worry about the load. It’s a mistake, as it doesn’t make sense to weigh yourself down too much and, in any case, make short movements or not perform at the speed recommended by the teacher. Remember: technique always comes first.
