Ideal drinks for Christmas dinner

Another noteworthy part at dinner is the drink, because it makes all the difference and can enhance the flavor of your dishes. Fernando advises: “for those who prefer alcoholic drinks, my advice is a sparkling wine or a white wine, ideal at low temperatures, in addition to the wonderful caipirinhas, which combine ice, seasonal fruit and vodka or cachaça”.

Also remember to invest in non-alcoholic options for New Year’s Eve dinner. “For those who prefer soft drinks, fruit juices or even orange and mint flavored water are very refreshing and allow for a lot of sophistication at the table,” reveals the chef of cooking.

Tips for a quick New Year’s Eve dinner

Do you want to avoid delays in preparation just in the days before Christmas and New Year’s Eve? For this, some suggestions can facilitate the production and storage process🇧🇷 🇧🇷The day before, season your meat (main course) and let it marinate,” reveals the chef.

While the meat is roasting the next day, prepare side dishes, such as rice, salads, and desserts. “If you don’t have time for dessert, a fruit salad is quick, practical and you can prepare it with the fruit available at home (apple, banana, orange, pineapple, grape, strawberry…)”, concludes Fernando.

For those who appreciate speed even at dessert time? So how about betting on the classic lemon cake? It is the ideal dessert to round off the Christmas dinner menu and will be a guaranteed success on the table!



Lemon cake

Time: 40min (+1h of fridge)

Performance: 8 portions

Difficulty: easy

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of crushed cornstarch biscuits (200 g)
  • 1 egg white
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • Lemon zest for garnish

Filling

  • 2 cans of condensed milk
  • 1 cup lemon juice (lemon)
  • 1 box of cream (200g)
  • the zest of 1 lemon

Roof

  • 2 egg whites
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar

Method of preparation:

Grind the biscuit in a blender, pour it into a bowl and mix it with the egg white and butter until a moist crumb is formed. Pierce a medium refractory and place in a medium, preheated oven for 5 minutes. Remove and reserve. Beat the filling ingredients in a blender until smooth, spread over the dough and set aside. In a mixer, whisk the egg whites with the sugar until frothy. Spread decoratively over the cake, creating peaks. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes with the door ajar. Leave to cool, decorate with lemon zest and refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
