They’ve faced prejudice on three fronts and are now hugely successful.
Women’s Entrepreneurship Day is celebrated on November 19. And the next day is Black Consciousness Day. Because there is a group of women who have a double reason to celebrate: they are black entrepreneurs over 40 who fight three times: against the prejudices of race, gender and age.
Let’s get to know some of them.
Rachel Maia
She is known for being the first black woman to hold the position of CEO in a major Brazilian company. She previously headed Tiffany & Co. Jewelry, Pandora and Lacoste Brazil. In her new career moment, Rachel advises in Diversity & Inclusion, Retail and Leadership, and firms that have already signed on include XP Investimentos, Carrefour and giant JBS.

He continues to work in the area but now advises through RM Consulting. The executive also serves as an adviser for Grupo Soma and is the founder of the Capacita-me social project, with a focus on education and the employability of people in vulnerable situations.
She was recently named as one of the 500 most influential people in Latin America, by Bloomberg Línea, in its second annual edition.
Viviane Elias Moreira
He has more than 10 years of experience in business resilience, risk & crisis management, with an MBA in Business Information Security and Cyber Security, Management Processes and Business Administration, working in national and multinational companies in the retail, financial, technology, insurance sectors and health.

Viviane is a professor of New Businesses with Purposes at FIAP, member of the 6th class of the Board Diversity Program of IBGC, associated with WCD (Women Corporate Director), Alumni of Grupo Conselheiras 101, 1st group for the training of black women executives for positions on the board of directors, Member of the Integrity and Ethics Committee of the MG Transport Secretariat, as well as working in working groups focused on gender and racial diversity.
Egnalda Cortes
Considered one of the most influential people in the digital market by Youpix and one of the most inspirational women of 2017 by Think Olga, Eganlda Côrtes is the founder and CEO of Côrtes Assessoria, the first agency for black influencers in Latin America.
With Côrtes, his mission is to empower professionals who have been made invisible for centuries, in order to promote their role in the market and create more effective dialogue, reflection and action in society through communication.

His creation in 2016 happened almost unintentionally when his son entered the universe of creators. It was through managing her channel, building a commercial and capitalization strategy that she saw a business opportunity and started leveraging other content creators and fostering brand partnerships, which led her to be one of 15 business acceleration mentors in Google channels in Brazil in the same year.
Martha Celestine
With over 25 years of experience in multinational companies in the financial and marketing sectors, Marta brought her talents to Ebony English in 2014. The goal was to restructure the school, a pioneer in teaching English with a black culture.
He worked to make the school a benchmark for its quality, methodology, and one of the only Afro-descendant-led institutions of its kind in the Americas.

Marta is a researcher, consultant in innovation and diversity, spoke at TEDx in São Paulo and is passionate about building bridges with the African diaspora. Their mission is to provide the support you need to achieve your goals and experience new places and cultures. Her inspiration comes from freedom, mobility, spirituality and the African continent, the cradle of humanity.
Maria Gal
Actress, presenter, content creator and CEO of Maria Produtora. On social media, she has more than 800,000 followers. She has been an actress for over 20 years and she has performed in Brazil and abroad, gaining international recognition with the Best Actress award at the Madrid Film Festival.

He has worked with Rede Globo, Netflix, Paramount and Rede Record. Today she can be seen in various works on SBT, Paramount, Netflix, Band News TV and Arte 1. You work in the production for cinema, TV and digital media, with content focused on racial and female themes, through your production company Maria Produtora.
Adriana Barbosa
CEO of Plataforma PretaHub and President of Instituto Feira Preta, he graduated in event management with a specialization in cultural management from the Center for Latin American Studies on Culture and Communication at ECA-USP.
“In 2020, I was recognized as the first Black woman among the World’s Social Innovators of the Year, by the World Economic Forum, and joined the Schwab Network team of social entrepreneurs,” she recalls.

Through the program Conversando a Gente se Aprendiz, together with Mandacaru, she carries out consultancy on diversity and racial inclusion in companies such as Netflix, Facebook, Google, Pão de Açúcar, Natura, MAC and Avon. He also currently sits on the boards of directors of Sistema B, Instituto Ethos, GIFE and sits on the racial equality committees of AMBEV and Carrefour.
Marinildes Queiroz
Born in Uruçuca, Bahia, Marinildes is a specialist in several subtopics of HR, where she has worked most of her career. She graduated in Business Administration with a Masters in Human Resources Management from the University of Valencia in Spain, she is currently Head of Culture and Organizational Development at the Carrefour Group.

In addition, he has a certificate in behavioral profiling tools such as PI and professional certification in Coaching from Marcondes Consultoria, where he acts as a volunteer mentor in the Mentorship Program of IVG – Nós por Elas.
