Indian pot pie ingredients:
- 12 eggs (whites and yolks separated)
- 3 cups sugar (tea)
- 1 and 1/3 cups (tea) margarine
- 3 cups breadcrumbs (tea)
- 2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- Margarine and wheat flour for greasing and flouring
Filling
- 2 cans of condensed milk
- 4 gems
- 2 tablespoons of margarine
- 2 cups of milk (tea)
Method of preparation:
For the dough, beat the egg whites in a stand mixer until stiff and set them aside. Still in the planetary mixer, in another bowl, beat the egg yolks, sugar and margarine until you get a frothy cream. Add the breadcrumbs, baking powder, cinnamon and beat until smooth. Add the reserved egg whites and mix gently with a spoon or spatula.
Pour into a greased and floured 40cm x 28cm mold and place in the preheated medium oven for 40 minutes or until golden brown. Leave to cool, unmold and crumble the cake with your hands. For the filling, place all the ingredients in a saucepan, mix and place over medium heat, stirring until a creamy, slightly thickened sauce is obtained. Remove from heat and leave to cool.
In transparent plastic jars, intersperse layers of crumbled cake and filling, until the whole jar is filled, finishing with the filling. Then sprinkle with the ground cinnamon and cover the bowl. Then serve or refrigerate until ready to serve.
