After all, can teenagers do laser hair removal?

One of the topics addressed as taboo to date is body hair. And we agree that this agenda is already well past, right? Having body hair is normal and natural, so there is nothing ugly or dirty, remember that!

After all, can teenagers do laser hair removal?

Whether it’s for aesthetic reasons or for discomfort, many girls are annoyed by the excess or the presence of hair. Therefore, following the “my body, my rules” wave, the only person who should have to make the decision to shave or not is you.

There are many alternatives on the market, such as waxes, creams, blades… But one that has gained more importance in recent years is laser hair removal. In addition to saving time and convenience, the procedure also takes care of the skin, as it avoids problems such as folliculitis and chafing.

Is waxing safe?

With more and more people joining the treatment, the question that arises is: Is this a recommended procedure for teenagers?

Bruna Pinati, from Laser Fast, says the treatment is safe for 12- to 17-year-olds, as the equipment used can be adjusted according to each client’s needs.

“There are no contraindications, there are only precautions for this age group, such as the alignment of results, since hormonal changes are present and directly affect the evolution and results of treatment,” he explains.

The expert says that the treatment is increasingly sought after by teenagers and that there is no right age to start it, but there are some recommendations. “For girls it’s recommended after 12 months from the date of first menstruation. For boys it’s recommended after puberty, which occurs around age 16,” he says.

According to data from Laser Fast, girls between the ages of 12 and 17 seek armpit hair removal first, followed by groin and mid-leg hair removal. For this audience, the general recommendations are maintained, such as keeping the skin hydrated and not undergoing sun exposure up to 15 days before and at least seven days after application.

“It is worth mentioning that, for this audience, the authorization of the manager is required to start the treatment, with the monitoring of all sessions of this underage client,” he concludes.

What happens? Shall we put the argument on the wheel?
