Delicious, like in childhood: New Year’s Plombir cake recipe – without baking and cookies

New Year’s holidays are a traditional time for home baking. We’ve found the perfect winter holiday dessert – with a taste that will remind many of childhood sweets, and an easy way to make that takes the pain out of the oven.

Ice cream cake is one of the most popular confectionery masterpieces of the past. The recipe for a delicate cake with the taste of ice cream was found in notebooks with recipes of most Soviet housewives, and for good reason. Firstly, rare ingredients are not needed for such a cake. And secondly, even a beginner will manage with his preparation!

We invite you to reminisce about the legendary taste of yesteryear by making the very Plombir cake.

Ingredients

For the cakes:

  • Flour – 250g
  • Sugar – 70g
  • Butter – 150g

For the cream:

  • Sour cream – 500 g
  • Eggs – 2 pieces
  • Sugar – 150 g
  • Vanilla sugar – 1 packet
  • Starch – 2 tablespoons
  • Butter – 50g

Start preparing the ice cream cake with cream. Do not spare time and products on this – the final taste of the dessert depends on its quality.

  1. Take a heavy-bottomed saucepan and break the eggs into it, then add the sugar, vanilla sugar and cornstarch. Mix everything until you get a smooth texture.
  2. Add sour cream to the pan and mix well
  3. Put the pan on low heat and boil the future cream for about 3-4 minutes
  4. When the mass thickens, add oil to it and mix everything again
  5. Put the cream in a warm place and cover with a film so that it does not deteriorate.

Let’s get to baking the cakes!

  1. Mix the flour with the sugar
  2. Rub the cold butter on a grater and transfer it to a bowl with the flour and sugar
  3. Mix the ingredients until the state of sand crumbs
  4. Divide the resulting mass in half. Pour the first part into a pan and fry until golden brown. Then repeat the same with the other half

When you are done with the dough, you can start shaping the cake. It is better to collect the dessert in a detachable form, so as not to accidentally break it at the end. However, with the necessary precautions, you will succeed even without special devices!

  1. Spread a small layer of sand crumbs in the mold and level it well
  2. Put a layer of cream on the crumbs, then the crumbs again
  3. In total, it will be possible to make 3-4 layers. The top of the cake should be covered with cream
  4. Place the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours. Better yet, all night

If you want, you can decorate the top of the cake with chocolate chips, nuts, cinnamon or something else. It all depends on your imagination. In the end, the cake will turn out very tasty without him – this was verified by his many fans 😉
