Symbol of the Brazilian national team, he never stops sharing his daily life on social networks
Mineira de Belo Horizonte, 39, mother, married for nine years and national icon of volleyball, Sheilla greeted the courts on August 19, 2022 in a festive match. Anyone who thinks that this ninth stage allows this former athlete to overlook health problems is mistaken, i.e. the withdrawal is not reflected in Sheilla’s routine.
Sheilla’s activities and readings
The practice of yoga dominates the mornings of the eternal Brazil 13 jersey. The origin of the word yoga is from the extinct Sanskrit language, with its root being “yuj”, meaning to integrate or unite. The proposal of yoga is to “associate” the work of the body and mind so that its exercises control anxiety and stress.
“I did yoga during the pandemic, stopped and returned in September (2022). I do it every day. It has become a habit. Yoga brings more peace, more concentration, improves physical quality and gives us energy. are several benefits,” says Sheilla exclusively for the sports life🇧🇷
Additionally, Sheilla also “migrates” to the gym and when she can’t go on-site, she does her own workout routine at home. It was also what she involved in her twin daughters Liz and Ninna’s week (4). All these commitments are part of the slogan High performancefeatured in their web profiles.
Sheilla maintains, along with yoga, private affairs and the academic world, the habit of reading. Motivation and leadership work are Sheilla’s favorite genres. It is common to follow book recommendations and some experience with some work on their networks.
“I’ve always had a habit of reading since I was in school when I was 15 or 16. But the type of book I read changes over time. I’ve read novels and fiction. Today I’m reading other types of leadership, self-knowledge and many philosophers I’ve read lately. Nowadays I’m on the less narrative side,” he comments.
Sheilla’s menu details
Another detail that Sheilla realizes during the week is the food part. The icon of the courts does not consider herself a habitué when it comes to eating, but she is always on the lookout not to commit “escapes” during meals and what is not on her menu is sugar.
“I cut sugar more for health reasons. I reduce gluten a lot for breakfast and, above all, when I’m at home when it’s quieter, I don’t eat bread at all. It varies between tapioca, couscous, sweet potatoes and with egg, which is always part of my breakfast. Choosing sugar has given me more focus and my skin looks better. These are obvious things.
Notes
The recent farewell to the courts has allowed Sheilla her first experience as a technical assistant at Gerdau/Minas Tênis Clube, current three times consecutive champions of the Women’s Superliga A (2018/19, 2020/21 and 2021/22). The two-time Olympic champion entered the commission of the blue coach Nicola Negra and made an “assessment” of that period.
“I learned a lot. It’s a very different function being off the pitch. I don’t know if I’ve managed to be a good coaching assistant, but I think I’ve managed to create a very good ‘link’ between the commission and the athletes. I’ve managed to lead the athletes very well. I was able to do it with greatness within Minas,” he recalls.
Future
Sheilla in this current season has not been able to keep up with Minas Tênis because she has dedicated herself to so many courses outside Brazil and in November 2022 she was in a study cycle in Turkey. What is known is that Sheilla has no intention of pursuing a coaching career.
“I don’t intend to be a coach. Of course, I accepted this experience at Minas, maybe thinking it could be, but after being there I saw that it’s not really what I want. I love helping athletes find their way traveled, to make that connection between commission and players, but that (a coaching career) is not my goal”, concludes Sheilla.
