Light Coast: My fascination for the table and decoration gave rise to Casa Costa. The subject has always interested me, but over the years it has become a real passion. For me, setting the tables, decorating the house and taking care of my home are a form of self-expression and self-care. It’s something that comes from the inside out, where taking care of me comes first. My boards have always been a way to connect with my family, an opportunity to express how important those moments are to me. I love looking for different products and digging for great discoveries and with that, putting together productions for everyday life or for special occasions. This was already evident to those who knew me closely. Since this is part of my life, I started sharing this content with the public through #MesasDaLuma, which generated a lot of interest in curating my looks and aesthetics. In 2021 this passion became a new adventure. I decided to research the market thoroughly and it became clear that it would make sense to launch a brand within the industry. With Casa Costa we want to strengthen the bond between people and encourage the exercise of generosity through the act of receiving and giving gifts. It’s an extension of my life and it was born inside my house.
Elas on the Red Carpet: How was the transition from actress to business woman in the decoration industry?
Light Coast: I can’t say there was a transition, as my acting career exists. Impossible to separate Luma “actress” from Luma “entrepreneur”: they are very complementary facets, which fortunately provide me with unique qualities. What I can say is that dealing with my career for so many years has given me tools that I apply in my new role. I am very happy and satisfied to be able to try my hand at a sector that I love and learn a lot every day.

Light Coast: They are fields of expression that “meet” in different ways. In the interest of aesthetics, in shape, in usability… I think there may be similar trends in a macro scenario, but I also see very particular elements of each sector. What is most evident to me is how much they inspire each other: many fashion brands draw on the source of design, architecture and decoration to create their collections and vice versa.

Light Coast: I dare say you can enjoy everything we have at home. You can easily make a nice dinner with what you have on hand. Light Coast: I love fashion, I love dressing well and taking care of myself. But I feel I have a very light and peaceful relationship with her – thank goodness! I’m not the person who follows trends or buys because everyone else is buying. My style is always my guide when it comes to investing in pieces. I am a woman who appreciates my authenticity and this is also reflected in my wardrobe.

What exchange do you make in relation to your professional life, after all she is also an actress and increasingly in the field of fashion entrepreneur. Do you also exchange ideas on decoration and fashion trends and vice versa?
Light Coast: We exchanged a lot, about everything. Besides being friends, we have similar professional histories: we started acting in childhood, grew up in the public eye, chose to start our own companies.
