Create your own New Year’s decoration with Feng Shui

Throughout the year, we use Feng Shui recommendations in our homes and workplaces with the intention of health, harmony, and prosperity. At the end of the year, extra elements for New Year’s decoration enter the rooms.

So now you can learn how to use these ornaments without losing the essence of Feng Shui. That is, you can make a New Year’s decoration that respects the harmony of your home, and thereby ensure joy and peace during the New Year holidays.

Christmas and New Year’s ornaments can be classified into one of five Chinese elements, according to their characteristics. Look down.

The five Chinese elements for New Year’s decoration

  • In the Decoration: Christmas tree

Don’t disturb your home’s energy on New Year’s Eve with decor

According to Master Joseph Yu of the Feng Shui Research Center, to keep your Christmas decorations from disturbing the energy balance in your home, you just need to have all five Elements in the environment.

The conical shape of the Christmas tree, as well as decorative lights, are associated, for example, with the element of fire. The traditional green color of pine is connected to the tree element.

You can complete the cycle by adding, for example, Earth, Metal and Water Elements to your tree with silver and gold balls. Or leave the square and rectangular gift boxes next to the tree.

If you want to go even further, make the packaging in shades of yellow, caramel, beige and brown, colors linked to the Earth. A dark blue or black towel or carpet under the Christmas tree will complement the New Year’s decor.

When the Five Elements cycle is complete, the qi – vital energy (see here what it means) – will flow and help bring good luck to the family.
