The exhibits reproduce life-size Banksy murals

The “The World of Banksy” project has temporary and permanent exhibitions in different cities of Europe

Briton Banksy is one of the most important (and controversial) graffiti artists today. His identity is unknown: before arriving at the place of the painting, a team erects fences to preserve the artist’s anonymity. Admiring all of his works, full of criticisms of capitalism and globalization, is a challenge. In addition to being scattered on buildings and walls in various cities around the world, many of them have already been obliterated or consumed.

The project Banksy’s world solved this problem through exhibitions that reproduce the artist’s main murals in full size – from the iconic “Girl with balloon”, originally made in Londonto more recent productions, made in Ukraine as a form of protest against the war. In addition to this, the environments in which the graffiti was produced are also reconstituted, from hotels in the West Bank to schools to prisons: Banksy is known for drawing on walls and buildings without any authorization or notice.

Other works, which have not been reproduced in full size, are exhibited in paintings and photographs.

Banksy’s world it will have permanent headquarters in the museums of Paris, Lisbon, Brussels and Prague, but will also travel the world in the form of temporary exhibitions. The project has already been to Beirut, Dubai, Barcelona and is now a Italy: the exhibitions in Rome, Turin and Verona will continue until 29 January 2023. In Bologna the exhibition will continue from 31 March to 6 August 2023. BRL 77).
