Maina Ruy Barbosa underwent a new visual transformation this Wednesday 8th and is back to being a redhead. The actress had changed her hair color for the first time this year, when she went blonde, but decided to go back to her natural tone.

“I liked discovering myself in another version. It was really fun being blonde and being able to play a character in a film with a different aesthetic. Now it’s time for new chapters in my professional and personal life and I needed to go back to my roots,” the actress said about returning to red hair.

The film mentioned by the artist is Antarcticain which she plays Inês, a scientist who is sexually abused in the midst of an expedition across the continent.

Regarding the change in appearance, Ruy Barbosa also analyzed that her hair color has brought about changes beyond her appearance. “As a blonde I allowed myself to explore a more daring, curious, almost experimental side.

It was like I was playing with a new version of myself, discovering other ways to express myself. The red is my place of strength, of belonging. When I have red hair, I feel like I’m at home.”
