Sena Madureira’s House session ends with widespread clashes and shouting; look what happened
The climate has warmed Sena Madureira City Councilin Acre, and last Tuesday’s ordinary session (7) ended in a brawl. The advisors Maycon Moreira (PSD) e Denis Araújo The (PP) had a disagreement during the vote on a bill and exchanged punches in the plenary, forcing the suspension of proceedings.
The dispute began when Araújo contested the rejection of his proposal made by the commission led by Moreira. The criticism was not well received: the CCJ president responded by accusing his colleague of “creating a circus” instead of following legal procedures. The response further inflamed the debate, which quickly escalated into shouting and, finally, physical assault.
Videos circulating on social media show the two lawmakers exchanging shoves and being restrained by legislative advisers and police officers. The official broadcast of the session had to be interrupted due to the confusion, but the images went viral and sparked outrage among city residents.
After the clash, both filed a complaint with the police. Maycon classified the scene as “deplorable” and said he will call for Araújo’s impeachment. Denis said he reacted to the offenses and defended his honor, apologizing to the population for the episode. The Presidency of the Chamber has not yet announced what disciplinary measures will be taken against the two councillors.
