What happens if you only walk 15 minutes every day?

Walking has long been recognized as the most beneficial activity for health. It improves the functioning of the heart, brain, improves mood. It’s a great form of cardio that’s gentler on your joints than running and easier than high-intensity cardio.

While many people are obsessed with 10,000 steps a day (which, by the way, is nothing more than a myth), you can reap most of the benefits of walking even with just 15 minutes. Steps.

Bad day at work? Throw it on a short walk. Research has shown that brisk walking for 10-15 minutes a day can help you feel calmer and more relaxed. Just walking 10-12 minutes a day in the fresh air is sure to improve your mood.

Walking increases creativity, researchers at Stanford University concluded in 2014. They found that walking (indoors or outdoors) better enhanced “new idea generation” (the so- saying creative thinking) than sitting.

This doesn’t mean that all tasks at work should be done while walking, but those that require a fresh look or new ideas will benefit.

A 2017 study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine found that people who walked just two hours a week (just over 15 minutes a day) had a lower risk of death than people who didn’t move. no way.
