A fashion nudity reappeared as a trend some time ago and it was reformulated with pieces that create the illusion of the female silhouette in more recent famous productions. During the Sanremo Festival in Italy, it was Chiara Ferragni who resorted to this trend with a production full of symbolism.
Considered one of the big global names in the fashion scene AND successful businesswoman, Chiara wore a trilogy of dresses directly related to the criticism she and other women receive on social media. The dresses were dubbed by her and Dior’s Maria Grazia Churi as “shameless dress”, “dress of hate” and “manifest dress”.
In a tone similar to the Italian’s skin color, the former had embroidered crystals in different shades, creating the optical illusion of exposed breasts and abdomen. “Turning attention to women’s rights, their bodies and how their disposition of the female body is, unfortunately, still considered discussed and questioned. This is the goal behind this look,” Chiara indicated in a post.
“The idea of a dress that simulated Chiara’s naked body came immediately, inspired by a creation by Maria Grazia Churi for Dior for Spring/Summer 2018,” she added.
