American actress Lin Shaye arrived at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima to promote the upcoming horror film Insidious 6: They Are Among Us. Peru is the only international destination outside the United States included in the promotional campaign for the movie.
Horror movie fans gathered at the airport from various locations to welcome Shaye with excited cheering and record her arrival. Showing great happiness, the actress thanked the crowd for their warm reception and signed autographs.
Shaye will remain in the capital for a series of scheduled events on August 10 and 11. Her agenda includes interviews with news media outlets, meetings with digital content creators, and activities with special guests.
Prior to her trip, Shaye stated that she was excited to meet her Peruvian fans in person and had long waited to share the news with them. Her visit marks a milestone for the local market as Peru serves as the sole international promotional stop for the film.
Role in the Insidious Franchise
Shaye is globally recognized for portraying medium Elise Rainier, a character who guides families fighting against forces from the supernatural plane known as The Further. Since the first installment was released in 2010, her character became the narrative core of the story and an icon of contemporary horror cinema.
With more than 50 years of career experience and over 250 film and television credits, Shaye has established a career combining memorable supporting roles with her starring role in the successful franchise. Insidious 6: They Are Among Us promises to expand the supernatural plane of The Further and is scheduled to open in Peruvian theaters on August 20, 2026.
