Who Is Lola Young
Lola Young began writing songs at just 11 years old. Her first project, "Intro," was released in 2019. In 2021 she received a nomination in the Rising Star category at the BRIT Awards, the annual UK music prize. Her debut album, "My Mind Wanders and Sometimes Leaves Completely," arrived in 2023 and was followed the next year by "This Wasn't Meant for You Anyway."
The Rise Of 'Messy' And The Tyler, The Creator Collaboration
In a recent interview with Vogue, Young discussed the success of "Messy" and said she was not surprised to see the track go viral. She described it as an incredible feeling that did not seem surreal to her, because she had been waiting for that kind of success for a long time.
Young also spoke to the magazine about her collaboration with Tyler, The Creator. She features on the track "Like Kim" from his album "Chromakopia," which the musician released in October.
She recalled that he messaged her and she completely freaked out. She said she was in Los Angeles at the time, before "Messy" took off, and that her own album had not even come out yet, so she nearly panicked before messaging him back. According to Young, the two ended up talking about sandwiches, and he told her she should come to Los Angeles. She eventually went to the studio with him, and she called him a genuine living genius.
Like "Messy," the song "Like Kim" also became a trend on TikTok.
Festival Closes On Sunday
Alongside Lola Young, the closing lineup for Rock in Rio 2026 includes Twenty One Pilots, Zara Larsson, Ivete Sangalo and Halsey. The festival's headline acts are due to take the stage in the late afternoon and through the night, with the final Palco Mundo performance beginning at 00:05 BrasΓlia time.
