Love Island's Molly Smith Shares Video of Crying Father

Love Island star Molly Smith has posted an emotional Instagram video showing her father John wiping away tears upon seeing her wedding dress in Mallorca.

The 32-year-old reality television personality tied the knot with Tom Clare, 26, in a lavish destination ceremony over the weekend, following their legal wedding last month.

Smith shared the heartfelt video with her social media followers on Wednesday as she prepared to walk down the aisle alongside her father.

John was overcome with emotion when he first saw his daughter in her bridal gown, setting off Smith's tears as well.

Captioning the clip on Instagram, Smith wrote, 'The man who loved me first.'

Clare also commented on the video post, writing, 'Wow I've cried all week.'

Smith and Clare first met while competing on the All Stars edition of Love Island in 2024, winning the reality show together two years ago. Father's Reaction to the Marriage Proposal

The emotional moment before walking down the aisle was not the first time Smith's father wept over the couple's relationship. The pair previously revealed that John was left in tears when Clare asked for permission to marry his daughter.

Speaking on their podcast NearlyWeds back in March, Clare detailed how he approached John during a family barbecue attended by both of their families.

Knowing they were about to go away on a trip, Clare decided it was the right time to seek his future father-in-law's blessing.

Clare asked John to step into the garage under the guise of assisting him with something.

'When I asked your dad, that I wanted to take your hand in marriage, we were at our family barbecue,' Clare explained on the podcast. 'Your family were there and my family was there. But because we were going away I was like this is the time I need to ask your dad.'

'And I said, "John will you just come have a look at this in the garage for me?" And he was like straight up because he likes to help,' Clare said.

'And then I pulled him in. I was like, "Oh, John, like obviously me and Mo are going away." And I really want to ask her to marry me. Obviously, I wanted to ask you for permission first,' Clare added.

'And then he teared up. He did tear up and then gave me a big hug, which I thought was really really nice,' Clare recalled.

Smith responded during the podcast episode, 'It's quite reassuring isn't it.'

Wedding Venue and Celebrations in Mallorca

The couple held their second wedding ceremony at Son Marroig, a picturesque 17th-century marble temple offering panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea. The historic venue, located on the coast of Mallorca, is a popular location for couples wanting to say 'I Do' on the Spanish island.

The destination wedding is estimated to have cost around £10,000 (€11,682). Smith welcomed her guests onto the terrace for a luxury candle-lit wedding breakfast while watching the sunset over the sea.

In the initial photographs published to Instagram, Smith stunned in an elegant beaded bridal gown, while Clare wore a white tuxedo. In additional social media posts embracing her bridal era, Smith wore a white thong bikini while cuddling Clare.

Police Intervention at the Afterparty

Following their vows on Saturday, guests partied well into the night. Best man Casey O'Gorman shared videos of himself letting loose on the dance floor.

The celebrations continued as family, friends, and co-stars gathered at the Suculenta Port de Sóller restaurant near the harbour.

The noise from the evening event reportedly irritated local yacht crew at the harbour, who called the Guardia Civil. The Guardia Civil is one of Spain's national law enforcement forces responsible for public security.

Smith appeared wholly unfazed by the arrival of the police officers. In social media posts following the visit, she was seen serving shots, cosying up to her husband, and jumping into the sea.

Best man O'Gorman stripped down to tiny Speedos while leering gormlessly at a police officer, according to images shared by fellow contestant Mitch Taylor, who professed his love for the party boy.

Other television personalities in attendance included Mitch Taylor and his model girlfriend Hayley Griffin, alongside Sophie Piper and her partner Joshua Ritchie, who were all dressed to impress.

The wedding party, including both the bride and groom, threw themselves into the water while guests swigged drinks, remaining unbothered by the police intervention as they documented the night online.
