Film distributor Volga has announced that it will release director Luca Guadagnino's upcoming drama Artificial in Russian cinemas under the localized title Artificial Intelligence.
The feature film will make its world premiere on October 5 at the 64th New York Film Festival. Volga confirmed that the exact Russian release date for the title will be announced at a later stage.
The main stars of the project, alongside director Guadagnino and the film's producers, are expected to attend the festival premiere in New York.
Drama depicting OpenAI executive crisis
Artificial centers on the high-profile corporate upheaval that occurred at artificial intelligence developer OpenAI in 2023. The plot focuses on the sudden dismissal of the organization's leader, who was unexpectedly removed from his position before being brought back just a few days later.
OpenAI is the San Francisco-based research laboratory responsible for creating the ChatGPT conversational platform. The brief firing and rapid reinstatement of chief executive Sam Altman in November 2023 became one of the most widely followed corporate stories in the technology sector.
Hollywood actor Andrew Garfield, widely known for starring in Spider-Man, plays OpenAI head Sam Altman. Russian actor Yura Borisov, who earned international acclaim for his role in the drama Anora, portrays Altman's colleague Ilya Sutskever.
Actress Monica Barbaro, who appeared in the action movie Top Gun: Maverick, plays OpenAI chief technology officer Mira Murati.
