Brenda Song has shared a look inside a romantic getaway to Mexico with her fiancé Macaulay Culkin to mark the Home Alone star's 46th birthday. The Disney Channel actress posted photos on Instagram on Saturday from their trip to San José del Cabo, revealing the couple were on "a little birthday getaway" for Culkin, whose birthday fell on August 26.

The couple, who have been together for several years and engaged since 2022, spent time sunbathing on the beach and enjoying what Song described as "the most magical beach dinner" under the stars along the Sea of Cortés. Photos shared by 38-year-old Song showed her showering Culkin with kisses, while the dad-of-two posed inside a luxury suite decorated with an elaborate birthday balloon display.

Social media tags and mentions on the post revealed the pair stayed at Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve property located amidst the dramatic landscape of the Baja California desert. Song set her Instagram post to the sound of Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers' 1983 country duet "Islands in the Stream". Between beach relaxation and spa visits, the duo also played the classic dice game Yahtzee.

Disney Reboot Discussions
Song's social media update comes just over a month after reports linked Culkin to a potential reboot of the blockbuster Home Alone franchise for Disney. Speaking on his podcast The Town on Tuesday, journalist Matthew Belloni reported that the 46-year-old actor had met with Walt Disney Studios executives at the company's lot in Burbank, California, to discuss creative directions to restart the film series.

"I got a tip the other day that there was a very interesting sighting on the Disney lot - Macaulay Culkin was there," Belloni said. "He's talked about having an idea for a new Home Alone, and Disney is, like, salivating."
Belloni reported that Disney higher-ups have been flexible in their efforts to persuade Culkin to reprise his iconic role as Kevin McCallister. "They're offering him another movie - like, he could do his own passion project if he could also do another Home Alone - and they have a good idea," Belloni added.

The Daily Mail reached out to representatives for both Culkin and Disney for comment on the report. Culkin famously starred as Kevin McCallister in the original 1990 comedy classic Home Alone alongside Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, and the late actors John Heard, Catherine O'Hara, and John Candy.

Franchise Legacy and Comeback Pitch
Culkin reprised the role for the 1992 sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, but did not appear in four subsequent films released in the franchise. Those later titles included 1997's Home Alone 3, 2002's Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House, 2012's Home Alone: The Holiday Heist, and 2021's Home Sweet Home Alone.

Appearing at a spoken word event titled A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin last November, the actor noted that he "wouldn't be completely allergic" to another project reprising the role of McCallister, though he emphasized that "it would have to be just right."

According to Variety, Culkin laid out a basic storyline premise for how his character could return to the franchise. "I kind of had this idea," Culkin said. "I'm either a widower or a divorcee. I'm raising a kid and all that stuff. I'm working really hard and I'm not really paying enough attention and the kid is kind of getting miffed at me and then I get locked out."

Culkin explained that in his proposed concept, McCallister's son refuses to let him back into the house "and he's the one setting traps for me."

Culkin and Song have been engaged since 2022 and are parents to two sons, five-year-old Dakota and three-year-old Carson. Song achieved widespread recognition starring as London Tipton on the Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, while Culkin remains closely associated with his career-defining childhood role in the 1990 holiday blockbuster.
